Richard C. Bane, President and CEO of Bane Care Management LLC, operates nine skilled nursing facilities in the greater Boston area, with locations in Boston, Quincy, Marblehead, Peabody, Lynn, and Salem, MA. The organization includes 665 beds, and manages over 900 employees. Mr. Bane is also involved with projects in assisted living and home health.
Professionally, Mr. Bane currently serves as Past Chairman of the Massachusetts Senior Care Association, the state’s largest professional provider group, and is responsible for advocacy, research and education programs across Massachusetts and the country. Mr. Bane also serves as the Chairman of The Aurum Network, the largest alliance of independent post- acute providers in New England. He lectures frequently on many aspects of senior services and post-acute care, and is considered one of New England’s senior care industry leaders.
Currently, he leads many of the regional efforts to help determine the role of skilled and post-acute care in accountable care organizations (ACOs). Mr. Bane is also involved in a wide range of corporate and community service activities. He serves as a director of Eastern Bank, a $7.5 billion mutual bank, where he chairs the bank’s Risk Management Committee. He is active as a trustee of North Shore Medical Center. Recently, he completed a ten-year term as a trustee at Salem State (MA) College, the last three years of which he served as Board Chair. He also led the college’s 2007 Presidential Search Committee.
Currently, he is a member of the Board of the Jewish Federation of the North Shore. He has also served as an elected member of the Swampscott (MA) Board of Selectmen and as a Trustee of Pingree School. Mr. Bane is a graduate of Dartmouth College (A.B., Econ, summa cum laude) and Harvard Business School (M.B.A. with Distinction).
